2009 Everlasting flow: 20' x 5' collage tapestry of monoprints

Site: Chattanooga Hamilton County Bicentennial Library

Artists: Youth from Teen Scene

Partners: Parks Foundation, City of Chattanooga’s Department of Education, Arts & Culture and Chattanooga-Hamilton County Bicentennial Library

Description: Youth from “Teen Scene” at the Chattanooga Public Library created a mural that expressed a movement from past to present as an exploration of their status of growing from child to adult. The teens collaborated to compose a theme for an abstract mural. Composed of directional shapes cut from cardboard as well as body parts including hands, feet, and even their faces as stamps, the teens generated a pile of printed cloth and arranged the pieces in a composition suggesting the movement of time.

Everlasting Flow was funded in part by the Parks Foundation.
