Artists: Bukue One & neighborhood teens from the Southside

Description: Breathe reminds travelers on Main St. to pause, relax & breathe. Graffiti artist Buku One (Tion Torrence), was invited to Chattanooga to lead workshops for local teens about the origins of hip-hop and how authentic hip-hop, graffiti, break dancing, and rap could inspire youth participation in civic life. Through a facilitated discussion, neighborhood teens chose the word Breathe to spray paint onto the wall of Hart Gallery, a community art space for nontraditional artists.
Breathe was funded by CreateHere.
