Camp employs youth to beautify Glass Street

July 16th, 2017.

Chattanooga Times Free Press

"Guitar music sounds softly as nearly a dozen local teens color strokes on a canvas to hang on a vacant building.

By beautifying the building, they hope to raise Glass Street and the East Chattanooga community out of the disinvestment that pulls it down."

Royal Procession on glass street

December 3, 2015

The Pulse

"They examined the masks of Egyptian pharaohs and the exquisite bronze heads cast in the Empire of Benin. And from these, a group of 14 teens, ages 13-16 from East Chat- tanooga drew inspiration to create images of their own faces. These masks will soon be mounted in positions looking down on Glass Street. They will become, in fact, “The Kings and Queens of East Chattanooga.”
