My City ‘Tis of Thee

Partners: Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga & the City of Chattanooga
Description: Sixty 3rd graders from CSAS painted their “singing self-portraits” directly onto a fifteen foot wall on Barton Ave, a highly trafficked thoroughfare, to welcome community members into the North Shore area. Working in twenty student shifts at a time, each student had the opportunity to paint from the tall scaffolding, giving them a sense of ownership of the city and their mural.
