Mosaic: The Flow

2010 functional mosaic sculpture
Site: AIM Center (472 W MLK Blvd)
Partners: AIM Center (a local nonprofit providing psychiatric rehabilitation services)
Artists: 35 AIM Center clients
Description: This mosaic sink sculpture, the focal point of the AIM Center’s art studio, was designed and built by members of the AIM Center, a psychosocial rehabilitation facility. The design process began with a facilitated discussion in which the members decided the mosaic sink’s design would be unexpectedly chic and inspired by both water and the AIM Center logo, a symbol reminiscent of the sun’s emanating rays. Members collaboratively designed and laid tile for Mosaic: The Flow.
